Q:
Does granite scratch?
A: Granite is one of the hardest materials on earth. The
only mineral
harder than granite and therefore
able to scratch it would be
diamond, otherwise it does not
scratch.
Q: Can i put my hot pots and pans on my granite countertop?
A: Granite can withstand heat over 450 degrees Fahrenheit.
If
necessary you can place your
hot pots and pans directly on your
granite countertop, however,
we do not recommend leaving
anything hot on the surface for
an extended period of time.
Q: I hear you have to seal a granite countertop. Is this
true and what
does this mean?
A: Granite is a naturally porous stone but once sealed
it is basically
impermeable meaning it will not
absorb or trap any bacteria or
liquids. Granite is factory sealed
before arriving in our warehouse
and then resealed at the installation
of your countertop. It is
recommended that you reseal your
countertop once a year. It is a
simple process of applying a
liquid coat to your countertop and
allowing it to set for 24 hours.

such sealers made specifically
for natural stone available for our
customers.
Q: What about everyday cleaning?
A: A mild soap can be used to regularly clean your countertop.
Stay away from abrasive cleaners
and anything acidic especially
when cleaning marble. American
Granite & Stone also offers a
full line of everyday cleaners
formulated specifically for natural
stone.

is your turnaround time?
A: From the date of template to the date of installation
it is typically
5 to 7 business days.
Q: Do you fabricate the granite?
A: Yes. American Granite & Stone completes each step
of the
process from template to fabrication
to installation with our
crews at our facility.
Q: Do you have any slabs in stock?
A: Yes! American Granite & Stone always has between
100 and 200
slabs of natural stone in stock
and ready for viewing.
Q: What if you don't have what I like?
A: American Granite & Stone has several distributors
in the
surrounding areas who deliver
to our facility at least once
per week. If we do not have what
you are looking for, we can
get it!
Q: What about sinks?
A: American Granite & Stone also carries a full line
of stainless
steel kitchen sinks as well as
porcelain vanity sinks
at competitive prices.
