American Granite and Stone offers several "corbels" (bar brackets or bar supports) which may be required to support excessive overhangs on bar tops or islands. Stone surfaces can be much heavier than the material they are replacing, and additional support may be required for overhangs that exceed roughly 8-10 inches, depending on the specific material. Wooden corbels can be painted or stained to match the surroundings and come in a wide range of sizes and styles. Metal corbels are also available.
